About DI 101

Passionate. Experienced. Professional.

History

D. E. Livingston formed “Death Investigation 101” because of his passion for this particular area of forensic science. He saw over the decades of being a death scene investigator that many from the law enforcement, EMS, and first responder communities, lacked understanding of the details of death investigation and how the Medical Examiner/Coroner systems function. He wanted to be involved in teaching the fundamentals of this science to rookie officers as well as a refresher to veteran officers to help those who respond to be more comfortable dealing with situations that are inherently uncomfortable, all the while learning to maintain the integrity of the death scene. Livingston has an excitement to share his vast knowledge with those who do a job that most people can’t.
